What kind of unit should I choose, a gas or wood stove or fireplace?
There is no type of heating better or worse than another.  The most important is your own need and not the salesman’s.  You would be wise to choose a store where you will be correctly advised in order to obtain the type of auxiliary heating you wish and is best adapted to your need.

What is the advantage of installing the liquid propane fireplace, the line and the tank by the same people?
The main advantage of installing all the equipment attached to your stove, fireplace or insert is your peace of mind.  Imagine you have the installation made by different people, who would you call if you have a problem, the liquid propane supplier, the gas line or the fireplace installer?

May I install my wood stove or fireplace myself?
You may do the installation by yourself.  However, if you have it done by Décor Chaleur St-Jérôme, you take advantage of a 3-year guarantee on the installation.  Moreover, we emit a compliance certificate you give to your insurer and release you from any responsibility.

May I do the installation of my gas stove or fireplace by myself?
Since gas installation is regulated by La Régie du Bâtiment du Québec, this one does not recommend it.  Moreover, the installer must hold the competence card necessary for such installations. 

What is the difference in buying my stove, fireplace or insert by a merchant or another?
The heating appliances you chose are guaranteed by the manufacturer.  On the other hand, if you have any problem, it is the responsibility of your merchant to see that the guarantee is honoured.  It thus becomes primordial to be in good relation with the merchant.

 If I buy a wood stove guaranteed for life, will I have difficulty to have my guarantee honoured after 10 or 15 years?
If your stove is bought at Décor Chaleur St-Jérôme, you will not have any problem, since our data base contains 98% of all contracts signed since 1978.  Moreover, one of our employees is dedicated, amongst other things, to all requests regarding guarantee.

 I have a prefabricated wood fireplace and I would like to install an insert to get more efficiency.  Is this possible?
It is possible but you have to be sure that the appliance you choose is approved for such installation.

 If I choose a stove or a fireplace, how can I be sure that the appliance would fit in our premises?
After having chosen your appliance at Décor Chaleur St-Jérôme, your representative will go on your premises before the installation and make sure the work could be done correctly and give the installer a scheme of work.

If I choose an auxiliary heating appliance, could I have an expert for the decoration of my fireplace?
 At Décor Chaleur St-Jérôme, we have a service that will give you the counsels necessary for the decoration of your fireplace according to standards required by the manufacturer of the appliance you have chosen.
